RICKY GROVER

I saw Ricky Grover at the Headliners Comedy Club 13th Birthday Show in 2015.  He was half way through his amusing no-nonsense, hilarious act when a drunk heckler racially abused another member of the audience.  The giant comedian, an ex-Boxer climbed down from the stage and immediately threw the heckler out of the club.  The organisers of the comedy night responded by playing Survivor’s Eye of The Tiger from the boxing film Rocky III as Grover returned to the stage amid jubilant cheers and continued his act.

I saw Grover again deliver a brilliant set at Headliners Comedy Club in March 2019.  As he states in his act, as well as being an ex-boxer, the big Londoner used to be a hairdresser, but he is best at being a comedian.  He incorporated this fact into a very funny, no-holds barred set about monotony and routine and being bored with life.  It was done with such relatability, the audience loved him as Grover honed big laughs from bantering as well as his act.

  1. Never seen Mr Grover live, but based on what I have seen on YouTube, and what I have read here, I’m sure he is hilarious!
