Amused Moose National New Comic Award Final 2018: The Space @ Symposium Hall, Edinburgh, 2018
Birdies Comedy (2 shows): The Savoy Tap, The Strand, London, 2019
Josh Baulf was one of the finalists at the Amused Moose National New Comic Award Final 2018 that I attended at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2018. Baulf’s cheeky personality on stage featuring stories about muggers getting younger were well told and got lots of big laughs from the comedy industry and paying audience.
It was great to see Baulf again at Birdies Comedy showcase in March 2019 trying out new material and effortlessly engaging with the crowd. In July 2019, I saw Baulf headline at Birdies Comedy performing ten minutes of his debut Edinburgh show which is thoroughly deserved. He sounds like Rob Beckett’s kid brother, but he has his own style with brilliant characterisations and stories about family life in London. His mischievous persona and enormous amount of confidence on stage made for an act that was exceptionally funny, and the three times I have now seen him do ten minutes, I have consistently laughed out loud at him every time. I am planning to see his debut show Boy at the Edinburgh Fringe in August and I wish him every success. For me, Baulf is a real find and one to watch.
