Always Be Comedy (2 shows): The Tommyfield pub, Kennington, London, 2019
The Big Funny Fest: The Old Deer Park, Richmond, 2019
Having been nominated at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards during the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe, I watched with eagerness Glenn Moore who appeared twice at Always Be Comedy in September 2018 and again when he compered as well as performed his new Fringe preview show in May 2019. I also saw him on the bill at one of the three shows of the day at The Big Funny Fest at Richmond in June 2019 and then again at Always Be Comedy in July 2019.
Armed with his authoritative voice, the ex-news reader’s unforeseen punchlines kept the audience guessing at his hilarious routines about not fitting in. Being posh, tall and geeky is always good ammunition for comedy and Moore utilised this fact brilliantly. The tightness of his set was very impressive. Moore has great facial expressions made for comedy and the fast delivery of stories describing his career and failed relationships inter-cut with pauses worked brilliantly at getting big laughs. Moore gets better and better every time I see him, and he was extremely popular by the end of his set with the encouraging crowd. I wish him every success at the Edinburgh Fringe in August.
