I have seen New Zealand actor and comedian Rhys Darby twice as the Edinburgh Fringe performing for twenty minutes at the Late ‘n’ Live showcase in 2007 and then delivering his own show This Way To The Spaceship in 2012.
On stage, Darby is a likeable, natural clown with an aptitude for surrealism delivering extremely fast paced razor-sharp inspired material. On both occasions that I saw his live act, Darby seemed encouraged by the warmth of the audience towards him and once he relaxed into the flow of his performances, he just got better and better. He was intelligent, endearing and daft, and there were times when I could not stop laughing at his zany humour.
