RUFUS HOUND

Ealing Comedy Festival: Walpole Park, Ealing, London, 2010
Musical: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels: Savoy Theatre, London, 2014

Rufus Hound compered an evening at the Ealing Comedy Festival that I attended in 2010.  He excelled at nicely set-up jokes and routines related to his life as he warmed up the audience for the main acts. He was effortlessly confident entertaining the crowd who took to his brand of humour and endeared to his on-stage personality.

Hound starred as conman Freddy Benson alongside actor Robert Lindsay as fellow conman Lawrence Jamieson in the musical version of the 1988 hit film comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (made famous by the inspired pairing of Steve Martin and Michael Caine) at The Savoy Theatre, London that I saw in 2014.  Both played off each other brilliantly and the lavish show set on the French Riviera about trying to settle rivalry by betting on who can swindle am American heiress was both hilarious and superbly produced.
