Andy Askins was a guest for Maureen Younger’s MY Comedy Chats that I watched online in January 2021. As he sat displaying a sense of weakness, the Geordie comic delivered killer liner to Younger’s questions whilst complaining that he was cold and that he needed to save money. As the evening went on, he could be seen sitting in the darkness wearing more and more elaborate clothing. This was a brilliant piece of comedy, and I made a mental note to watch Askins again soon.
In March 2024, I saw Askins perform a set at Headliners Comedy Club. Very self-assured and warm with the audience, he talked about his upbringing with wonderful comic effect.
