Comedy legend Nicholas Parsons has enjoyed a long and varied career encircling theatre, television, film, radio and comedy. He has hosted his Happy Hour chat show most years at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe every year since the year 2000. It was one of the shows I went to at Edinburgh. I enjoyed it so much, to date I have seen a further six shows over the period 2005 to 2014. The renowned host of the radio comedy series Just A Minute for over 50 years since it started in 1967, Parsons made Happy Hour his own. The show itself was a comedy chat show that featured acts (comedians, singers and actors) from across the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The enjoyable presenter was appealing, amusing and affable which made for an easy-going and welcoming atmosphere for the teatime audience. Whilst I as finishing this book, I was very sad to read that Parsons passed away at the age of 96 in January 2020.
