Comedian Mark Simmons was a guest at Nick Helm’s Christmas show in December 2018. He delivered off-beat one liners and puns to an encouraging audience. He told a story through telling his jokes which endeared him to the crowd making him a popular hit.
In February 2021, Simmons was a guest online for Maureen Younger’s MY Comedy Chats where he described his joke writing process and his experience of living in lockdown.
The comedian appeared online side by side with fellow comedian Seann Walsh at Always Be Comedy Online in April 2021. They both created an inspired set where Walsh was teaching Simmons the art of comedy using cleverly devised zoom tricks and extremely funny routines.
I watched the superb comedian headlined the Sofa SoFunny! showcase in July 2022 and again, in May 2023. He had an incredible ability to take a subject from the crowd and instantly deliver a joke. The audience loved the act which was full of belly-laughs.
I watch the comedian’s major tour, Quip Off The Mark, at the Leicester Square Theatre in London in November 2023. What was so impressive and so funny was the quickness and ability to produce the joke rate. He was a master at delivery using visual, on-going, and verbal gags to really build the momentum and create waves of full-blown laughter. He also played Headliners Comedy Club in January 2024 to wide acclaim.
Announcing his 2026 tour, Jest To Impress, the comedian performed wonderful work-in-progress jokes and puns for Sofa So Funny! that I watched in January 2025, as well as headlining Always Be Comedy in February 2025, and headlining Sofa So Funny! again in November 2025.
Simmons is a highly recommended one-line joke-teller and I am looking forward to seeing him again soon.
