Winner of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of The Year 2020, comedian Eric Rushton performed for both Just The Tonic Saturday Night Special and Late Night Jokes On Us at the Leicester Comedy festival that I watched in February 2022.  With his slow-build delivery, Rushton was wonderful at telling a joke and a story really drawing in the audience until the hilarious punchline.  His clever material and wordplay really endeared him to the audience.

I watched a preview of Rushton’s solo show Not That Deep at the Buxton Festival Fringe in July 2023.  Extremely engaging with the audience, the Staffordshire born comedian was extremely witty talking on subjects including relationships, parties, and dolphins.  His droll delivery was pitch perfect and the audience really warmed to him providing big belly laughs.

His solo work-in-progress show, Real One was a highlight at the Leicester Comedy Festival 2024.  Playing to a packed room, he was extremely confident and likeable on-stage delivering relationship stories that the audience could easily believe. His delivery was pitch perfect as each routine found waves of laughter.

I watched his new show, Innkeeper at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2025.  A show about his inadequacies with brilliant audience interaction and dark humour, expertly delivered made for a very enjoyable hour.  He was also an excellent guest for Cray Cray Cabaret that I watched in October 2025 at The Comedy Store in London.
