Stevie Martin is an actor, writer and comedian who I saw perform at Always Be Comedy in May 2019 and then again at the London Comedy Allstars showcase on London’s Southbank in June 2019. The material featured characters, sketches, songs (including her brilliant tribute to Country and Western) and stand-up comedy all mixed with charm and warmth from a very lively, very talented and funny woman.
In July 2021, I saw her solo show Hot Content at the Soho Theatre in London. The subject was the impact of social media rightly or wrongly on life, and the show was very cleverly constructed mixing sketches, characters, audience participation and stand-up comedy. I was sitting in the front row and was delighted to be asked to hold up a lighting board for her so there was just the right amount of light for her Instagram photo! It was an exceptionally funny show with a relevant point.
I saw her again at the Soho Theatre in August 2023 for a new work-in-progress show. Trying and testing material, what was particularly impressive was Martin’s confidence and assurance on stage with an exceptionally sharp wit. She really enjoyed and made the audience continuously laugh out loud for the hour.
I watched Martin’s new show, Clout, at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2024. Using a PowerPoint for maximum impact for the jokes and stories, she delivered a constant roster of laughter to the enthused afternoon audience.
She was a guest for a TV recording of the comedy news review The Last Leg that I watched at the Television Centre in London in September 2025.
Martin is highly recommended, and I look forward to seeing her live again soon.
