Hannah Margaret: Live. Laugh. Lurk. Hull Comedy Festival 2025, The Edge Hub, Hull, 2025

The deserved winner of the Hull What’s On Comedian of The Year Final 2023, Hannah Margaret delivered a wonderfully funny routine about relationships and dating which was easily relatable with the crowd who belly-laughed at a lot of the punchlines.  She reminded me of a Yorkshire version of Sarah Millican, with impeccable timing and delivery.  AS a result of winning the competition, Margaret will perform a solo show at the festival in 2024.

The solo show, You OK, Han? Was delivered with such confidence and comic ability that it was hard not to like the comedian.  I was so pleased to be in the audience watching her show as part of the Hull Comedy Festival 2024, as I think she is a real find and deserves to go far.  Stories about her engagement were extremely relatable and hilariously told. She also appeared at the Hull What’s On Comedian of The Year Final 2024, having won the competition in 2023, she performed a brilliant 15 minutes as comedian Jack Gleadow and myself, acting as judges, decided the winner.  I look forward to watching Margaret again soon and wish her every success with her comedy journey.

Margaret returned to Hull Comedy Festival in November 2025.  I watched her as a guest panellist for the RSPCA Comedy Panel Show for Chirty: Cats vs Dogs, and for her new solo show Live. Laugh. Lurk.   Stories involving healing your inner child and avenging your teenage self, her delivery and timing was impeccable and she was extremely funny.
