Adele Anderson has been one third of the satirical musical comedy cabaret trio Fascinating Aida along with founder member Dillie Keane and Liza Pulman. I have seen this gifted act to date on three occasions both at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2012, 2014 and 2022. Each time, much of the humour results from these prosperous, immaculately dressed women performing allegedly risqué songs.
There can be no doubt that this stylish entertainment presented by mistresses of their craft. With a variety of styles from West End showstopper to poignant ballad, and sometimes a cappella, everything is beautifully sung. The group are undeniably entertaining and hugely skilled and as I left the shows I felt thoroughly satisfied at having very enjoyable evenings.
Anderson was a guest at Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of The Fringe at the Edinburgh Festival in August 2018. She sang two songs about depression and death but with such enthusiasm that the audience loved her.
