Whilst I was chatting to likeable Cockney comedian Lenny Sherman after he opened with a blistering set at Always Be Comedy in February 2019, I was amazed that I had never come across him before after he told me that he had been gigging for eight years.  To experience watching a good comedian for the first time on stage is one of the reasons why I love to watch comedy and Sherman was consistently brilliant.  Effortlessly making the audience laugh with a barrage of real working-class jokes and stories on any subject that came to mind.

For sheer enjoyment, an hour in the company of Sherman is hard to beat.  Playing the Frankenstein pub with his new show Have Fun for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, I went to see him in August 2019.  I sat on the front row and was given with the rest of the row a popper to let off as he bounded onto the stage, full of warmth, enthusiasm, and energy.  Crammed full of daft jokes, stories and one-liners, the comedian never let up and delighted the audience with cleverly written material.

The comedian returned to Always Be Comedy in November 2021 where once again his warmth, energy and enthusiasm to make an audience laugh out loud shone through with brilliantly constructed jokes that were both clever and very funny.

One of the friendliest comedians I have ever met; to date, I cannot believe I have only seen him live on stage twice and look forward to seeing him again very soon.  Sherman deserves every comedic success and I wish him all the very best with his career.
