Adam Bloom is an extremely creative English comedian who I first came across at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in 2007. His solo show Look At Me Anybody! saw Bloom dissect himself and his comedy driven by the fact that he is over-sensitive, over analytical and over-excitable. This was proved when I laughed so hard at one of his jokes that he looked at me in amazement and said ‘Was it really that funny?!’ The show was very funny and I caught Bloom again performing a set both for Banana Cabaret at The Bedford Arms and appearing at Arnold Brown’s 80th Birthday Bash at The Comedy Store in London in 2016. Again, Bloom darted around the stage full of physical and mental energy engaging and endearing the audience with his nervous, super-fast humour.
Bloom appeared at the Up The Creek Comedy Saturday night showcase when I went along in September 2019. His twitchy anxious style exploded with energy as he bound onto the stage leaning into hid audience to chat to them and dealing brilliant with hecklers. His put downs were extraordinary, and his jokes were superbly crafted often wrong footing the Saturday night crowd. Bloom is a terrific, very likeable comedian and highly recommended.
