Warrington born Paul Thorne is a very reliable effortlessly funny compere and comedian.  I have seen him work audiences for The Comedy Store and the Ealing Comedy Festival to blistering effect.  He was extremely easy-going yet lively on stage armed with brilliantly funny topical routines on the state of the country and everyday life warming up the audience and getting them ready for the main acts.

Thorne compered Headliners Comedy 17th Birthday that I saw in September 2019 and compared again in February 2020.  He made warming up an audience seem easy and delivered very quick-witted audience banter and topical routines.

At the Headliners birthday celebration, Thorne heard me continuously laughing from the second row of the audience and the more he enquired about me and my laugh, the more it became increasing funny.  At times, I couldn’t stop laughing and the audience had a great time with this very likeable and hilarious comic.

Thorne appeared at Headliners Comedy Mayfest which was the first live comedy show I saw in a long time due to lockdown and the worldwide pandemic. He compared at the club again in March 2023 and both times, it was as though Thorne had never been away making the stage his own confidently bantering with the audience and very quick with funny lines.  It was great to have him back.
