I saw Tom Rosenthal (son of TV Sports presenter Jim and one of the stars of Channel 4’s long running comedy series Friday Night Dinner) play Always Be Comedy in 2016.  Rosenthal was an extremely agreeable comedian who effortlessly entertained the crowd with an extremely amusing and nostalgic routine about growing up with his famous dad.

Rosenthal tried out new material at Always Be Comedy when I saw him in January, April and May 2019.  He was extremely quick-witted and seemingly forever adverse to and unafraid to talk about any wild ideas.  He was at times very erratic on stage although engaging easily with the encouraging audience.  Despite having a famous sports commentator father, Rosenthal is a great comedian in his own right.  He was intelligent and extremely literal with his comedy.  His rapid-fire delivery of stories and jokes created an energy in the room that led to standing ovations.

Rosenthal returned to Always Be Comedy for his new work-in-progress show Manhood featured a very delicate subject and the effects from it.  His descriptions and the work he put into the detailed research was hysterical and Rosenthal once again proved he was a very versatile and likeable comedian.
