Australian comedian Ray Badran headlined an Always Be Comedy showcase that I saw in September 2019. Badran delivered lots of cynical comments and stories with his unique nasally voice under a shock of curly hair. What I found particularly impressive was how he took something so trivial such as the number and size of pockets on his trousers or the length of his name and make them extremely funny. Badran built on his set over the twenty-minutes and by the end the audience loved him.
Badran made an appearance for Always Be Comedy Online in June 2020 and was a guest MC online in October 2020. The show was online because of a worldwide pandemic and Badran described his experiences of lock down from new material, notes, and stories. He was hilarious with a brilliant delivery of the routine and I hope to see him again soon.
