Hull Comedy Festival 2024 Presents Live at Connexin: Chris Ramsey and Friends: Connexin Arena, Hull, 2024
I watched Amir Shah perform a routine at Always Be Comedy in May 2018. He was prone to outbursts, was very genuine and had some very funny and relevant lines with the audience warming to him as soon as he walked on the stage.
Shah played the club again in September 2018. There was a much more confident, assured and very funny appeal to his act for me in his delivery reminding me of a young Bob Monkhouse as he talked about his experiences of growing up in India. He was wildly animated which increased the laughter and was a hit with the audience after delivering a blistering half hour set.
Shah was the opening act for Gits and Shiggles Comedy in February 2020. He was extremely confident and funny as he delivered a storming intelligent set on the state of his life and career.
The comedian also featured for Always Be Comedy Online in November 2020 and headlined Return Of The Craic Online Comedy Club in February 2021 where he sat and pondered about the current state of lockdown with two highly intelligent and extremely funny routines.
Fresh from winning the 2023 Edinburgh Comedy Award for his show Ends, Shah played Always Be Comedy in October 2023, and then again in February 2024. He was also a guest for Chris Ramsey and Friends at the Connexin Area for the Hull Comedy Festival in November 2024. With brilliant confidence and intelligence making the audiences think about what he had to say about the state of the country, he was absolutely hilarious with his well-thought out views.
