Greg Davies is a Welsh-born, English stand-up comedian, actor, and former secondary school teacher  I had wanted to see him live on stage for some time and finally did so for his Magnificent Beast tour when it came to London in 2017.

The show concentrated on subjects such as Davies questioning what he had done with his life to realising he was middle aged, to him wondering if any of his previous lovers still remembered him, whether he was a great teacher or not and how he would live up to his deceased father.

The show hit the perfect blend of heartening and relevant stories performed with Davies’s compelling style of disdainful humour.  Davies is both endearing and shocking at the same time, but the audience absolutely loved him and were exhausted at the end of the performance from laughing.

Davies delivered work-in-progress material for his new 2025 tour Full Fat Legend, at Outside The Box Comedy Club, New Malden in October 2024.  I sat in the front row with much anticipation having never met him before.  He started chatting with me in the audience and said, ‘We’re about the same age, tell me sir, how many times do you go to the toilet at night?’ I answered 6, and after wincing, he told me I should be in hospital!!! I convulsed with laughter both at this remark and for the rest of the evening, as his stories about failure and mishaps were hysterically funny.  afterwards, when I did get to finally meet the great comedian, he told me that my laugh was insane! Wonderful.
