Always Be Comedy: The Tommyfield pub, Kennington, London, 2017
Kevin Eldon played Always Be Comedy in London in 2017. Elson is a TV comic bit-part veteran and only occasionally performs live. Always unpredictable, he appeared nervy on stage which I couldn’t work out was his natural stage persona or the fact that he hadn’t performed for so long. The jokes were razor-sharp political and modern life satire with sudden bursts of manic energy to emphasise a point.
