CHARLES FLEISCHER

The Best of The Comedy Store: The Comedy Store, London, 1988

The American stand-up comedian, actor and writer Charles Fleischer headlined the first ever bill I saw at The Comedy Store in London in 1988.  He was zany, manic, loud and brash making me cry with laugh and I remember telling everybody about the act after I had seen it.  The strange thing was that I never saw him perform live again because soon after the performance, he went on to voice Roger Rabbit in the film Who Framed Roger Rabbit and have a successful Hollywood career as a voice over artist and bit part actor.  I was extremely lucky to see this talented funny man live on stage.
