DAVE JOHNS

Play: True West: Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, 2006
Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of the Fringe: Pleasance Courtyard, Edinburgh, 2017

Dave Johns is a stand-up comedian and actor who appeared in the play True West when I saw it performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2005.  The play written by Sam Shephard was an short-tempered vicious and darkly comical depiction of fraternal conflict.

I also saw Johns perform his stand-up act as a guest on Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of the Fringe at the Festival in 2017.  The cheery Geordie delivered a very funny set for the lunchtime crowd describing his appearance at the British Academy Film and Television Awards after starring in the highly acclaimed Ken Loach film I, Daniel Blake.
