Robin Ince is an English comedian, actor and writer.  To date, I have seen him perform twice at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.  In his show Robin Ince Is As Dumb As You in 2005, he explored the world through reading books and featured all manner of varied topics from cannibalism to otters.  His mind was immense with pointless but amusing information and developed the literal knowledge to progress the theory that the universe is becoming more ridiculous.  Ince’s delivery as with the twenty-minute slot that I saw at the After Hours comedy showcase in 2009 was an ironic, clever examination of the state of the nation.

Ince returned to live stand-up comedy for Cutting Room Floor East in July 2021.  He was very enthusiastic and proved what a great comedian he was by talking at wildly funny tangents on anything that came to mind.

The comedian was also a guest for Vix Leyton’s Comedy Arcade Live at The Camden Fringe in August 2021.  The successful podcast which the host gives a panel of comedians, subjects to talk about was a perfect vehicle for Ince who demonstrated his extraordinary mind delivering hilarious facts and stories which thoroughly entertained the audience.

I watched Ince perform an hour of seamless material at a Red Imp Comedy showcase in July 2022.  He waled onto the stage and just started to talk and rant about any subject that came into his head.  It was a masterclass of timing and delivery that was so hysterically funny, my sides were aching with laughter.

Ince is not only a great comedian but a very knowledgeable interviewer and comedy supporter.  At the Bristol Slapstick Festival 2023, he was at the helm for Breaking The Silence interviewing Harry Hill about his Lonely Island slapstick film series, and then he chatted to Peter Richardson and Nigel Planer about making their classic Comic Strip documentary More Bad News and celebrating 40 years of The Comic Strip.  Finally, he took charge of a conversation around the books of Monty Python.

Ince is a very clever, intelligent comedian with a very quick mind and is exceptionally funny and very honest with his views on life.
