HUMPHREY LYTTLETON

Barry Cryer and Friends: An 80th Birthday Celebration: The Palace Theatre, London, 2015

The Humphrey Lyttleton Big Band were guests at Barry Cryer and Friends: An 80th Birthday Celebration that I attended in London in 2015.  The band played a couple of songs before a rendition of Happy Birthday that was sung by the audience. They appeared as a tribute to the Jazz giant Lyttleton known affectionately as ‘Humph!’ because he played the trumpet and band leader.  He also hosted for over 35 years the classic radio show, I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue where Cryer was a regular team player.  Lyttleton became the UK’s oldest panel game host until his death in 2008.
