British comedian Howard Read played two showcases that I saw at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe – BBC Stand Up Live in 2007 and the Pleasance Late Show in 2013.  Read on stage persona was magnificent – big, bold, idiotic, upbeat energy with a wonderfully expressive face which delivered a roster of quick-fire jokes and stories which thoroughly entertained the late-night audiences.

It was wonderful to see Read headline the Funny Rabbit Comedy Club that I watched in October 2023.  Easily making the audience laugh with surreal and bizarre observations, I was delighted to see him again after a long break.
