Flanders and Swann: A Brand New Gnew Aftergnoon: Pleasance Courtyard, Edinburgh, 2009

I first watched Tim Fitzhigham and Alex Silverman recreate Flanders and Swann at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2007.  The tribute to the best-known British musical comedy duo was uncannily accurate and a perfect afternoon show.  The comic songs The Gnu Song, There’s A Hole In My Budget, The Gas Man Cometh, Ill Wind, The Hippopotamus Song and Mud, Mud Glorious Mud to name a few were gloriously reinvented and the comedy actors stage presence and comic delivery during the interludes were brilliant.

They had a perfectly enjoyable afternoon show and were so good I saw them again at the Festival Fringe in 2009 for more of the same.
