TERRY SCOTT

Play: Run For Your Wife: Shaftesbury Theatre, London, 1984

From Carry On Films to Terry and June on TV and film, Terry Scott was an absolute master at wide-ranging comedy. With the instantly recognisable whiny rattled voice of frustration, the chemistry between Scott and his long-suffering TV wife June Whitfield in Happy Ever After and then Terry and June, was so special that viewers thought they were real husband and wife.

I was lucky enough to see Scott star in the long running theatre farce Run For Your Wife in London in 1984.  The play was written by Ray Cooney and ran for eight years with different comedy casts. I saw the play three times with different comedians.   Scott played John Smith, a bigamist in the hugely successful farce.
