Extremely natural, confident on stage and exceptionally funny, North-West of England comedian Elaine Fellows was the first act to appear at The Norman Award Newcomer of the Year competition that I watched at the Hastings Fringe Comedy Festival in June 2022. I also saw her at the comic showcase Sofa So Funny! in July 2022. Her material comparing North to South was very sharp and the audiences laughed a lot during her five-minute sets. She deservedly was runner-up in the Hastings competition and is one to watch.
