Extremely natural, confident on stage and exceptionally funny, North-West of England comedian Elaine Fellows was the first act to appear at The Norman Award Newcomer of the Year competition that I watched at the Hastings Fringe Comedy Festival in June 2022. I also saw her at the comic showcase Sofa So Funny! in July 2022.  Her material comparing North to South was very sharp and the audiences laughed a lot during her five-minute sets.  She deservedly was runner-up in the Hastings competition.

I was delighted to see her solo work in progress show Sugar and Lies at the Leicester Comedy Festival in February 2024.  Exploring the lies we tell ourselves and others, this extremely relatable show was crammed with loads of laughs and Fellows performed with such confidence that she was in complete control of the room.  It was great to meet her afterwards too. She is highly recommended and definitely one to watch.
