DANNY DEVITO

Play: The Sunshine Boys: Savoy Theatre, London, 1996

American film comedy actor, Danny DeVito, whose found fame in the American TV comedy series Taxi and appeared in numerous hit films including Romancing The Stone, Jewel of The Nile, War of The Roses (which he also directed) and Twins, appeared in West End of London alongside Richard Griffiths starring in the classic Neil Simon comedy The Sunshine Boys.  The story of a about two famous comedians brought together by one of their agent sons for a reunion and revival of their famous act. The superb comedy came from the fact that they hate each other and as I watched the two great performers doing their thing, I marvelled at DeVito’s acting range standing on tables matching Griffiths for height and pointing a finger ranting throughout the classic play.  It was a joy to watch.
