Leicester Comedy Festival 2024: Paddy Young: Hungry, Horny, Scared: Firebug, Leicester, 2024

A real find at the Leicester Comedy Festival 2024 and I was amazed I hadn’t seen him before as everyone had been talking about his sold-out show, Hungry, Horny, Scared at the Edinburgh Fringe the previous year, it was fantastic to see Paddy Young perform his solo show in February 2024.

As I took my front row seat, Young bounded onto the stage and there was a sense of unpredictability which was infectiously funny.  So much so, that as I kept glancing at my smart watch, he demanded that he take it and keep it safe on stage until the end of the hour.  I duly obliged and when the show was over, he forgot to give me the watch.  He gave me a hat bearing the title of the show and then I asked if I could have my watch back.  He scrambled onto the stage, the watch was still there, and we had a photograph.

The show itself was an extremely funny mixture of ideas, characters and routines put together with such detail and originality, Young is a comedic talent to be reckoned with.  He is highly recommended and I’m looking forward to seeing him again soon.
