Neil O’Rourke delivered a five-minute routine when I went to Birdies Comedy free showcase in London in 2017.  The Irish comedian had wonderful punchlines and amusing jokes about relationships and doing his best at coping with life.

For me, there are a lot of very funny Irish comedians around – Aisling Bea, Andrew Ryan, Dara O’Briain and so on – who seem to be fearless on stage and can make any subject funny.  Neil O’Rourke is the latest addition who appeared at Birdies free comedy showcase that I saw in October 2019.  I was swept along by his energy and enthusiasm.

O’Rourke was the support act for Jarlath Regan work in Progress show that I watched at the Leicester Square Theatre in October 2023 and then for Regan’s tour Yer Man at the Shepherds Bush Empire in March 2024.  Really entertaining the audience with stories, visual gags and props, he was an ideal warm-up comic.
