Dave Chawner: Mental: Brighton Fringe 2025: Laughing Horse @ The Quadrant, Brighton, 2025 

Comedian Dave Chawner was the compere at the Laughing Horse Pick of The Fringe that I saw at the Brighton Fringe in May 2018, May 2022 and May 2023.  Both times, he was a very cheery, buoyant host with an enjoyable and illuminating delivery.

In 2023, a confidence doubt led to a journey of what achievement really looks like.  This formed the basis of Chawner’s new solo show, 6 Steps To Success from the ‘Award Winning’ Dave Chawner, that I saw at the Brighton Fringe in May 2024.  Unfortunately, there was only a small audience at the gig, and Chawner asked if it was worth doing the show.  We 100% agreed and encouraged, and the how was all the better for it.  The enthusiasm that the comedian gave was inspired with extremely silly and funny stories based on success in life.  Straight after, Chawner compared the Laughing Horse Pick of the Fringe showcase in the same venue and the afternoon proved what a great comedian he is.

His 2025 show, Mental, examined Mental Health and not Mental illness.  Filled with wonderful inspired and hilarious stories, he was charming and warm on stage encouraging the audience to think as well as laugh.
