The Jones the Bootmaker Ish-Edinburgh Awards: Edinburgh Fringe 2024, Just The Tonic @ The Counting House, Edinburgh, 2024 

I was honoured and invited to be a guest at the first ever Ish-Comedy Awards at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2023.  The brainchild of comedy producer and comedian Sarah Bowles, the awards are an alternative set of awards announced when the long-established Edinburgh Comedy Awards did not have a sponsor.  With tiny trophy prizes and cash prizes of £10, £5, and £5 respectively, the three categories were Best Show, Best Newcomer, and Panel Prize.  The winners were: Best Show: Julia Masli and Paul Foot, Best Newcomer: Dan Tiernan and Fiona Ridgewell, Panel Prize: Mark Simmons and Danny Ward for A Show for Gareth Richards.  The awards were hosted by Patrick Monahan, with contributions from Ed Byne, Nathan Cassidy, Mark Silcox and Aiden Jones. 

I went again to the awards at the Fringe in August 2024.  Now with a sponsor – and a £5,000 prize, the awards went to Elf Lyons for her show, Horses, Abby Wambaugh, Alex Petty, Best In Class, Dion Owen, Elaine Robertson for Funny Women Glitter Project.  The awards were again hosted by Patrick Monahan, with contributions from Milton Jones and Bobby Davro.
