Tom Ward is a unique and talented surrealist who produces ridiculous ideas out of thin air when on stage. I saw him perform at Always Be Comedy in 2017 and he entertained the audience with a wealth of comedic skills.
Ward looks like the singer of one of my favourite indie bands The Inspiral Carpets. I saw him appear at Always Be Comedy in March 2018 and January 2019. The first time as he swaggered onto the stage armed with an incredible haircut, he proudly announced to the audience that it was not a wig. He then took off on a strange comedic trip bringing the crowd along for a jubilant ride. The second time I saw him, his ridiculous slant on life and brilliant way to convey a punchline was extremely refreshing and won the audience over who were left in helpless laughter.
The comedian headlined the Collywobbles Comedy Lockdown V2 online gig in November 2020. His persona was one of frustration stuck in lockdown. He was exceptionally quick on his feet chatting to the audience and playing samples of songs asking them which was their favourite and then delivering hilarious responses. Ward has a exceptional and vivid gift to make an audience laugh.
Ward played an Always Be Comedy showcase in September 2021. He was confident and fearless as he strolled onto the stage and delivered a tirade of clever and exception ally funny observations relating to his life and also ingeniously sang some hilarious lyrics that had the audience in stitches. I enjoyed his performance so much that I was delighted that he was on the bill for London Comedy Allstars that I saw a few days later and could admire and laugh again at the wonderful comedian.
