A comic veteran for over 15 years, London-based Jewish comedian Ian Stone is a very funny, skilled and assured stand-up comedian. I have seen him many times featured on bills over the years and he is always able to deliver quality political and every-day material that is well crafted and constructed. Stone is a very reliable and entertaining act.
One of the two great comperes’ for Stand Up Against Alzheimer’s at The Comedy Store, London in June 2019, Stone was extremely amiable and skilful in making the audience feel welcome at the benefit. He had an ability to make light of almost anything and he effortlessly bantered with the crowd. His lightning comedic reactions that made the whole audience laugh and his easy-going style on stage was a winner.
Stone appeared at Headliners Comedy Mayfest in May 2021 as the comedy clubs were opening up again after the worldwide pandemic. The stage was a good grounding for practising and Stone proved he was a great comedian by delivering ten minutes of quality banter to an entertained audience.
In July 2022, Stone was an effortlessly entertaining and hilarious compere for The Best of The Comedy Store. A superb comedian, he chatted with the audience creating instant comedy before welcoming the acts.
I watched Stone perform his solo show In The Wilderness at the Leicester Comedy Festival in February 2023. Describing his Jewish upbringing, he delivered an effortlessly funny hour oh top quality material.
Deservedly winning a Spirit of The Fringe Award for Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of The Fringe, I watched Stone deliver a wonderful 15-minute set in August 2023. Effortlessly brilliant with an audience and even dealing with a difficult member of the crowd, Stone has funny bones and was excellent entertainment for the lunchtime crowd.
