Max Olesker and Ivan Gonzalez are a British comedy duo known collectively as Max & Ivan. I saw them perform sketches at Always Be Comedy in September 2017. The sketches centred around their friendship were frenetic and the characters they created were hilarious. They are an extremely polished sketch double act that easily generated laughs from the loving audience.
The duo previewed their new Edinburgh Fringe narrative sketch show at Always Be Comedy in June 2019. The true story of the irrational lengths one best man (Max) will go to give one groom (Ivan) the greatest weekend of his life. there were plenty of wonderfully funny scenes that logically arose from the overstated personalities of their showy eccentric alter-egos. The use of PowerPoint brilliantly executed at precise points generated lots of laughter in between the two comedians playing every character in their story with biting wit and razor-sharp improvisation.
They returned to Always Be Comedy in January 2022 where admitting they hadn’t performed comedy for two years because of the lockdown were as hysterical as ever using PowerPoint visuals to brilliant comic effect and performing sketches and stories. They were wonderful to watch.
Max and Ivan extremely entertaining and highly recommended.
