Manchester born comedian Alex Perry appeared at The Blue Posts comedy showcase that I attended in 2014. His friendly and relaxed stage demeanour endeared the crowd and the Northerner was well liked as he delivered well observed comedy.
Perry stood in for resident compere Brendan O’Donaghue at Birdies free comedy showcase that I saw in October 2019. I had seen Perry do the sane favour for James Gill when he was unable to compere at Always Be Comedy and knew we were in for a good time. Perry had trouble but made light of a loudspeaker which murmured all night and turned into a comedy prop. Perry was effortless with a relatively quiet audience getting the best out of them by playing games before the main acts were introduced.
