STEVE SHANYASKI

The Big Comedy Gala in Aid of Macmillan Cancer Support: Venue 150 @ EICC, Edinburgh, 2012
Headliners Comedy Club: George IV pub, Chiswick, London, 2020

Manchester comedian Steve Shayanski was an act at the Big Comedy Gala in Aid of Macmillan Cancer Support when I attended at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2012.  A whirlwind of thrilling energy, Shayanski delivered ridiculously daft songs and included a story where playing all the characters, he talked about an argument with his wife and conceding defeat by buying her expensive flowers, which was instantly recognisable and well-loved with the audience.

Shayanski appeared at Headliners Comedy Club when I attended the Saturday night show in January 2020.  He burst onto the stage determined to make the audience laugh and stopped at nothing until he succeeded.  He wildly weaved and created very accurate accented stereotypical working-class characters that fuelled his stories about his relationship with his wife.  The comic rattled through stories at breakneck speed with surreal charm and extreme silliness.
