New Yorker, Janine Harouni played Always Be Comedy when I went in January 2020. She was extremely comfortable and confident on stage chatting to the audience about growing up in America She proved to be a good actor and got better with her comedy as the laughter grew when the audience endeared to her recognising similar stories to the ones she was exaggerating.
The comedian was a guest for Return of The Craic Comedy Club in February 2021 and for Always Be Comedy Online in March 2021. Talking about her engagement and living in lockdown, she was sharp and very funny delivering extremely clever punchline to her engaging stories.
After an inspired cameo in the Iain Stirling and Steve Bujega penned sitcom Buffering for ITV 2 and with another series due, the comic returned to Always Be Comedy at Wandsworth in September 2022 and in Kennington in February 2023 with a wealth of new material. Talking about her marriage, the possibility of having kids and the state of her relationship, the very easy-going American had the audience in the palm of her hand and was absolutely hilarious.
Harouni was a very reliable funny woman, and I would be delighted to see her live again soon.
