Los Angeles raised Maria Shehata played Gits and Shiggles Comedy in Putney in February 2020. She was relaxed and warm on stage with tightly written jokes and stories of her experiences living in Britain. The audience took to her and she delivered an encouraging comic set.
I saw her again in October 2020 at the Top Secret Comedy Club in London and again on the bill for Stand Up 4 Women Xmas Edition in December 2020 were she was fearless talking about her relationships that struck a chord with the audience. The new material worked well and I enjoyed her sets very much.
Shehata was a guest for The Rat Pack Stand Up Comedy show that I saw at the Camden Head pub in November 2021. Again, superbly confident and very funny with her delivery, she entertained the crowd describing relationships and differences in American and British culture.
