Grimsby’s greatest comedian, and one of my absolute favourites, Lloyd Griffith performed twice at Always Be Comedy as well as compere a show in 2017.  Griffith is a cheery and extremely likeable comedian with a warm nervous friendliness that endears him to the audience. His material about dating and relationships was razor sharp and whilst compering, the audience were treated to his impressive counter tenor singing skills which went down a storm.  Griffith is extremely entertaining and highly recommended.

Griffith played Always Be Comedy in January, May and October 2018 and then again to try out new material in January 2019.  Griffith had all the ingredients to make me laugh out loud and all the comic elements were there: the banter, the awkwardness, the extreme likeability with the crowd and the relentless punchlines. His honesty and execution of everyday life summed up in a joke is amazing and his nervous energy on set is very funny and infectious. He brilliantly involved the audience asking them questions related to his routine building the comedy as he went along.

It was a pleasure to see Griffith’s All Rounder solo show at Soho Theatre in London in April 2019. The show encompassed daft stories, fantastic impressions and extremely impressive singing.  The show was a triumph from the comedy star.

Griffith returned to Always Be Comedy Online in January 2020 where he performed new material and ideas for a forthcoming tour.  As ever, he was very personable and extremely funny.

With his tour sadly on hold like so many other comedians, Griffith made a wonderful return for Always Be Comedy Online in June 2020, again in January 2021.   He made making people laugh seem so effortlessly easy as he broadcast live from his mum’s describing in comic detail his experiences of life during lock down.   He also headlined at the Virtual Comedy Night in order to raise funds for AFC Croydon as well as an appearance for Return of The Craic Online Comedy Club in March 2021 where once again his delivery of a punchline to a story was perfect and exceptionally funny.

The comedian made a live appearance at the Brighton Open Air Theatre for the Funny That Comedy Summer Festival in June 2021.  Performing in a beautiful outdoor venue, the comedian delivered a perfected crafted hysterical twenty-minute set which had the audience in fits of laughter.

I finally got to see Griffith’s new tour Not Just A Pretty Face at the Leicester Square Theatre in London in October 2021.  Delivering a wonderful hour of big laughs, the comedian’s talents were used to the full including pricelessly singing an operatic football chant.  The routines about his career and relationships were hysterically funny as was his crowd work that made for a very entertaining evening, and I was so pleased for him.

The comic performed a work in progress show for his new tour Unemplloyd at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2022.  It was a joy to spend an hour on a Sunday afternoon in his exceptionally funny company.

Griffith returned to Always Be Comedy, Kennington in October 2022 where he deservedly headlined the night.  A master at self-depreciation on stage, he brought the house down bantering with the audience in his hysterically nervy way talking about his experience living with his mum in lockdown.

The comedian performed a preview of his new tour One Tonne of Fun for Always Be Comedy in January 2023.  The material was so sharp and so well delivered that I immediately bought a ticket for the actual tour in March.  Griffith was hysterically funny at the preview and deserved a standing ovation.  The actual tour show that I saw in March was brilliant with Griffith in complete command of the Leicester Square Theatre audience delivering superbly funny jokes and stories.  He delivered another brilliantly funny set for Always Be Comedy in April 2023 where he got another standing ovation from me; and performed work in Progress for Collywobblers Comedy at the Bread & Roses Theatre in Clapham, London in September 2023.

Griffith is a naturally very funny man who makes me laugh so much and I look forward to seeing him again very soon.
