Sarah Keyworth played Always Be Comedy in 2017. She delivered stories relating to what it means to be a child raised believing you could be anything you wanted to be and then turning 24 and realising you are just the same as everyone else. This subject raised a lot of laughs and Keyworth was popular with the audience.
The comedian played Always Be Comedy again in October 2018. On stage, she drew the audience in making them listen and laugh at her recounting stories about her tomboyish childhood to finding her own identity to working as a nanny for two children. She was endearing to watch, amusing, very real and truthful.
In August 2019, I saw Keyworth perform for the Best of The Fest showcase at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She was extremely comfortable and in control with the late-night audience delivering comedy describing the tiniest details of the human condition that was heart-warming and exceptionally funny.
In October 2019, the comedian headlined Live at Limehouse comedy night that I saw. Her interaction with the crowd was superb handling awkward situations with ease especially by a bloke opening the door to the room whilst she was toward the end of her set trying to find the nearest convenience. Polite and charming, she still managed to generate a lot of laughter. She was the perfect headliner.
During a worldwide pandemic, Keyworth was a guest for Always Be Comedy Online in May 2020. She proved once again that she was brilliant at constructing a comic story to match her frustrations of lockdown.
The comedian was a online act for the Next Up Comedy in July 2020. During her hour, she talked about moving in together with her girlfriend and covered topics such as having long hair, dancing and removal men. She was effortlessly at ease with the online crowd and her boyish charm and delivery of hilarious stories shone through the performance.
Keyworth also appeared for Vix Leyton’s Comedy Roulette where she told very funny stories of experiences based on the topics on balls generated at random from a machine She also headlined Leyton’s Comedy Kiss launch night in November 2020 and appeared for Always Be Comedy Online and Comedy at The Covid Arms 1st Birthday Show in March 2021.
The comedian returned to live stand-up with a brand-new hour of new material for a work-in-progress show at 2Northdown for the Camden Fringe in August 2021, for an Always Be Comedy showcase in September 2021 and an Always Be Comedy online show in December 2021. Subjects included everything from driving instructors, living at home, depositing a urine sample to her new relationship. She also deservedly topped the bill at Always Be Comedy’s new venue in Wandsworth in September 2022, and was a superb guest for Dylan Moran and Friends at The Clapham Grand in June 2023, where she easily engaged with the audiences making everyone laugh out loud.
Catching my train at 545am from Kings Cross to Edinburgh, Keyworth’s was the first show I saw at midday for the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe. The comedian did not disappoint, especially for a work-in-progress show. It was a finely tuned hour of hysterical comedy effortlessly bantering with the audience about everything from what they had for breakfast to relationships to the state of the country. It’s what makes Keyworth one of the most relatable, easy-going, and hilarious comedians on the circuit.
Keyworth is a comedy force to be reckoned with, her view of the world is hilarious, and she is an extremely funny comedian.
