I saw Fiona Allen perform at Always Be Comedy in March 2019, also at Headliners Comedy Club in May 2019 and again for Live at Piccadilly in February 2020. She hadn’t performed stand-up comedy for fifteen years and the former Smack The Pony TV star delighted the audience on both occasions with a watertight routine with subjects including motherhood and being from the North of England. She displayed her impressive array of accents which helped the comedy deliver big laughs. After a break, I am delighted to see Allen return to comedy.
In April 2020, Allen appeared on Vix Leyton’s #StayAtHome Online interviews where she talked about her career and in July 2020, was a guest again for Leyton’s Comedy Roulette where she described her worst job interview and worst holiday experience.
Allen was a guest for Vix Leyton and Friends (Work In Progress) that I saw at The Cavendish Arms in 2021. She was exceptionally confident with the crowd delivering wonderfully funny stories about family life and coping in lockdown. Allen was a joy to watch.
