Northern comic Phil Ellis appeared for Always Be Comedy Online in August 2020.  His anarchic pace and range was crazy and hilarious and he was fearless with the online audience effortlessly bantering away with them.  As he started the seemingly put together set, a brilliant twist saw his flatmate (fellow comedian Chris Betts) coming in and sit in front of the camera watching television as he was trying to perform.  Ellis was a true original and a comic force to be reckoned with.

Ellis was a guest for Chuckl Comedy Hull at the Hull Truck Theatre in November 2025.  He was effortlessly brilliant delivering an off kilter set about anything that came to mind.  Brilliant audience participation, great stories and anecdotes from a comedian at the top of his game.
