Maureen Younger was the opening act for the Up The Creek comedy showcase that I saw in September 2019.  The ballsy, gutsy no-nonsense comedian effortlessly made the audience continuously laugh out loud with forthright and truthful observations about love and sex whilst delivering the delights of being middle aged and single.  It was a hilarious twenty-minutes and made me want to see this very funny woman on stage again soon.

Younger featured in Jen Brister’s show for the Next Up Comedy Festival in July 2020.  She had some hilarious stories to tell of their friendship and had a very infectious laugh which entertained the online crowd.

The comedian also appeared as a guest for Vix Leyton’s Comedy Roulette in August 2020.  The game based on random topics generated from a machine gave the comedians and chance to shine and Younger told a brilliantly funny story based about grammar.  Her delivery was superbly funny.

When Leyton revived Live @ Limehouse in the socially distanced Star of The East pub garden, Younger triumphed again with a wonderful set about her experiences during the pandemic and her relationships.  Brilliantly using the audience as a comic device, she was thoroughly entertaining and exceptionally funny.

One of Younger’s online shows MY Comedy Chats that I have seen on occasion featured the comedian talking to three others about their comic careers, coping in lock down and the future of the industry.  It was a fascinating insight into what comedians think and Younger’s intelligence and support shone through.

Younger is a terrific comedian who I always look forward to seeing when she is on a bill.
