HARRY ENFIELD

An Evening with Private Eye: National Theatre, London, 2013
Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse: Legends! Live: Hammersmith Apollo, London, 2015
Play: Once In A Lifetime: Young Vic, London, 2016

Harry Enfield was a guest at the annual An Evening with Private Eye at the National Theatre, London in 2013.  As I sat in the audience, the satirical magazine’s editor and host Ian Hislop introduced him along with Jan Ravens, Lewis McLeod and John Sessions.  The evening was a mocking look back at the people and events of 2013 and the audience were extremely engaged and excited.

Enfield, the creator of many memorable comedy characters such as Stavros, Loadsamoney, Dave Nice and Kevin the Teenager starred with regular comedy partner Paul Whitehouse in Legends! Live at the Hammersmith Apollo in London in 2015.  The recognition of the popular characters who had been given new life with newly written sketches were a big hit with the packed crowd.

I saw Enfield make his theatre debut at the Young Vic in London in 2016.  He starred as a movie mogul in the revival of Once In A Lifetime, Moss Hart and George S Kaufman’s satirical comedy about Hollywood’s transition from the silent era to the talking films.

Enfield has remained over many years one of Britain’s most popular character comedy actors.
