Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of the Fringe: Pleasance Courtyard, Edinburgh, 2016

I have twice seen multi-talented and extremely versatile comedian and actor Tim Fitzhgham (together with Duncan Walsh Atkins) play one half of musical duo Flanders and Swann at the Edinburgh Festival.  They recreate the silliness and daftness of the famous musical comedy act for an hour and is extremely entertaining.

I also watched Fitzhigham play the judge a part of This Is Your Trial which was featured on Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of the Fringe when I went along in 2016.  This is an entirely improvised courtroom showdown which is set by the audience. The premise is that the Clerk of the Court (played by comedian Trevor Lock) calls the prosecutor and defendant from the audience under the gazing eye of judge Fitzhigham and the guest QCs argue the case before the jury (the audience).  The show has proved to be very popular at the Fringe year after year.
