BBC Comedy Presents: BBC @ Potterow, Edinburgh, 2011
Return of The Craic Online Comedy Club: Online: 2021
Funny That Comedy Summer Festival: Brighton Open Air Theatre, Brighton, 2021
I watched Scottish comedian Mark Nelson perform a fifteen-minute routine for the BBC Comedy Presents showcase at the Edinburgh Festival in 2011. Rattling through stories involving his relationship with computer games to shopping at Aldi, his hard-hitting routine was extremely funny and very popular with the late-night crowd.
Nelson was an online guest for Return of The Craic Comedy Club that I watched in February 2021. The likeable comedian delivered strong stories about family life in lockdown and made the audience relate and laugh at mishaps and annoyances. Nelson created a great set full of laughter.
The comedian headlined the Funny That Comedy Summer Festival at the Brighton Open Air Theatre in June 2021. Watching him live was wonderful as he built up his comedy talking about being a dad and his experiences of lockdown and being Scottish. He was a joy to watch.
Mark is great as he doesn’t take himself too seriously. Saw him in Edinburgh a few years ago.
