PATRICK MCGUINNESS

Paddy McGuinness: The Dark Side: Palace Theatre, Manchester, 2005
Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights Live: Manchester Phones4U Arena, Manchester, 2015

I watched popular Bolton born comic actor Patrick ‘Paddy’ McGuinness perform his first ever stand-up solo show The Dark Side at the Palace Theatre, Manchester in 2005.  The show contained riotous adult humour with the fearless star entertaining a packed audience.

I saw McGuinness again as part of the ensemble cast of Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights Live in Manchester in 2015.  Based on the smash-hit Channel 4 TV comedy series about a Bolton nightclub, McGuinness appeared live with Kay towards the end of the show as Max and Paddy, the two hapless doormen.  When they appeared at either side of the Arena, the twenty thousand strong audience went crazy and were delighted when Kay kept making McGuinness laugh with comments about presenter McGuinness’ popular TV dating show Take Me Out.
