Comedy Night at The Academy: Manchester Academy, Manchester, 1994
I can remember with great admiration and fondness watching Donna McPhail on stage. I am sure I have seen her many times perform ten-minute sets and I believe she has long since changed careers and stopped doing stand-up, however I do recall a comedy night at Manchester Academy in 1994. McPhail was on a comedy bill and absolutely stormed the room with a wildly energetic routine about what it like to be a woman. I laughed so hard at her and made a mental note to see her as often as I could but she retired from comedy not long after this appearance.
